Chemical Analysis Facilities2
Elemental composition analysis of organic and inorganic samples.
Explore facility βThe University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC) was established in 1984 with the support of the UGC and an Indo-Japanese grant-in-aid. Located in the North Campus, USIC maintains sophisticated analytical instruments for the researchers and faculty members of various science departments of the University, and the facility is extended to teachers and students of the constituent colleges of the University of Delhi. Some of the high-end sophisticated instruments are operated by trained engineers from the companies, along with USICβs own support staff. Facilities for carrying out spectroscopic, thermal, chemical and microstructural analysis on a variety of materials are extended to all researchers. A centralised liquid nitrogen distribution facility is maintained for all science departments, and all requests for customs and excise duty exemption for imported items are processed by the Centre. Training programmes and workshops/seminars are organised regularly for laboratory staff and research scholars in focused areas of materials characterization and analysis.
